Hagar Posts Nine Wins to Highlight Another Strong Season

Inside Line Promotions – MARION, Ark. (Nov. 27, 2019) – Derek Hagar rounded out his 2019 season with nine wins, which will serve as motivation throughout the offseason.

“I believe this is only the second season we didn’t earn 10 or more wins,” he said. “I was hoping to do it again, but that isn’t all that defines the year we had.”

Hagar finished in the top five 25 times during a 38-race schedule. He would have raced more had Mother Nature not wreaked havoc for a good part of the season.

“The rain got us a lot this year,” he said. “I felt like we had a good season for the number of races we were able to get in. Hopefully we won’t have to deal with so much weather next year.”

One of Hagar’s biggest wins of the season came during the preliminary night for the famed Short Track Nationals hosted by I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark. He claimed the King of the Wings event for the second straight season and led the ASCS Mid-South Region with four triumphs to go along with four victories during USCS Series competition. Hagar also won the USCS Series Speedweek title and tied his career-best World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series result.

Hagar plans to fine-tune his 360ci and 410ci programs throughout this offseason while also getting ready for a couple of marquee races.

“We’re already looking forward to 2020,” he said. “Between racing both the 410 and 360 and getting ready for that, we’ll be running the Chili Bowl again this year. We’re hoping to have a three-car team for that so it’ll be interesting to see how that turns out. After that we’re planning to head down to East Bay Raceway Park (in Gibsonton, Fla.) in February. It’ll be a quick offseason, but we’re excited for next season.”
