Mark Smith battles to USCS Speedweeks Round #5 “Hub City Havoc” win at Hattiesburg on Friday

Hattiesburg, MS – June 12, 2020 – Sunbury, Pennsylvania sprint car driver Mark Smith held off team-mate Dale Howard from Byhalia, Mississippi and USCS Sprint Speedweeks points leader, Jordon Mallett from Greenbrier, Arkansas after a late race re-start to register his third trip to the www.RockAuto.com USCS Victory Lane at Hattiesburg Speedway on Friday night during the USCS Sprint Speedweeks Round #5 of the six-race mini-series. Crossing under the flag stand behind the runner-up Howard and two-time USCS Champion Mallett in the final podium spot were Michael Miller from Ocean Springs, Mississippi and another two-time USCS Champion, Morgan Turpen from Somerville, Tennessee.

Dale Howard kicked off the racing action by winning the USCS Hoosier Speed Dash. Kyle Amerson from Montgomery, Alabama won the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat. Mark Smith won the Brown and Miller Racing Solutions Second Heat. Morgan Turpen garneed the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger Award for her efforts after advancing the most positions in the A-Main after starting 11th and finishing 5th.
