USCS OUTLAW THUNDER DIRT TOUR TO RETURN TO CROSSVILLE'S RACEWAY USA ON AUGUST 13

July 28, 2004
FAYETTEVILLE, GA -
United Sprint Car Series officials have announced that the USCS Outlaw Thunder Dirt Tour will return to Crossville's Raceway USA in Crossville, TN on Friday night, August 13. Crossville's Raceway USA was the site of the closest finish of the season during the 2004 USCS season.

On July 2, USCS "top guns" Terry Gray of Bartlett, TN and Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL swapped the lead twice on the final lap of the 30-lap main event. Gray, the defending and three-time USCS National Champion raced side-by-side with the "Malabar Missile" off the fourth turn to the checkered flag.

The "Bartlett Bullet" beat Adams back to the finish line by a half-car length for the victory on the 1/3-mile clay oval.

While Gray and Adams have dominated the first half of the 2004 USCS season with a combined win total of 15 victories (Adams with 9 and Gray with 6) in the first 23 events, there is a new kid in town in the form of 18-year-old Danny "The Hammer" Martin of Sarasota, FL.

Martin has just reeled off two straight USCS victories. On July 23 in Swainsboro, GA, Martin outran Gray for the win, and on July 24 in Cochran, GA, Martin outran Adams for his third victory of the season. Martin also has a USCS win this season in Rome, GA. Martin is currently second in the USCS National points chase sandwiched between point leader Gray, and Adams.

Also returning to Crossville's Raceway USA on August 13 will be local favorite R.J. Johnson of Decatur, TN. The "Decatur Raider" is fourth in the USCS National point standings, and is also the top USCS Rookie of the Year Candidate for 2004. Johnson has just begun his senior year at Meigs County High School.

Other top entries will include Brice Wrenn of Lexington, SC, Tom Winegardner Jr. of Pierson, FL, Chad Allum of Kannapolis, NC, Scott Christian of Valliant, OK, Dave Thorman of Greenville, SC, and Stephen Darvalics of Venice, FL.

The USCS winged outlaw sprint cars will compete in the Air Flow Research Power Dash, heat races, and a 30-lap main event. For the latest news, information, point standings, and schedules visit the series website at www.uscsracing.com.
