O'REILLY USCS "FALL BRAWL" AT EAST BAY RACEWAY PARK MARKS A HOMECOMING FOR SEVERAL SERIES REGULARS
October 13, 2005
FAYETTEVILLE, GA - The O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series will travel to East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL on November 4-5 for the 4th Annual Fall Brawl. For many O'Reilly USCS regulars on the Outlaw Thunder National Tour, the two-race series will be a homecoming of sorts.
In the six O'Reilly USCS Fall Brawl events held at East Bay Raceway Park since the 2000 season, each winner has been from the Sunshine State.
Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL won the first East Bay Raceway Park Fall Brawl event in 2000, on his way to the O'Reilly USCS National title that season. The "Malabar Missile" currently leads the O'Reilly USCS National point standings with 16 wins this season. Adams followed up his 2000 success with a 2003 East Bay Fall Brawl win.
Danny "The Hammer" Martin of Sarasota, FL came on to the national scene of winged outlaw sprint car racing as a 17-year-old driver in 2003 with an East Bay Raceway Park Fall Brawl victory. Martin joined the O'Reilly USCS National Tour fulltime in 2004, and was the series' National Championship Runner-Up.
To cap off a successful season, Martin took the 2004 East Bay Fall Brawl opener for the second straight year. In 2005, Martin will arrive at his home track second in the O'Reilly USCS National point standings with three wins on the season.
Greg Leonard of Tampa, FL kept the big money in his hometown by taking the victory in the 2004 East Bay Fall Brawl finale. In what many fans consider to be the most exciting O'Reilly USCS race ever run, Leonard charged through the field from the seventh starting spot for the win after dueling with Adams, Martin, and the defending and four-time O'Reilly USCS National Champion Terry Gray of Bartlett, TN.
Another Florida driver with an East Bay Fall Brawl win is Sport Allen of Pinellas Park, FL, who won the 2000 Fall Brawl finale.
Other Florida O'Reilly USCS drivers gearing up for the East Bay Raceway Park Fall Brawl include a trio of SpeedMart Young Guns. Bryn Gohn of Malabar, FL is fourth overall in the O'Reilly USCS National point standings, as the 20-year-old driver trails Adams, Martin, and Gray. Gohn, who has one win this season, also leads the Robison Racing Products Rookie of the Year point standings.
Sixteen-year-old Matt Tiffany of Daytona Beach, FL is fifth in the O'Reilly USCS National points with one win this season, and is second in the Rookie of the Year point standings. The 2004 O'Reilly USCS Rookie of the Year 18-year-old R.J. Johnson of Decatur, TN is a native of Wesley Chapel, FL, and is sixth in the O'Reilly USCS National point standings.
Skeeter Faulconer of Lutz, FL is seventh in the O'Reilly USCS National point standings, and will lead a three-car team into the East Bay Raceway Park Fall Brawl. Other Florida favorites with O'Reilly USCS experience this season include Stephen Darvalics of Venice, FL, Brian Maddox of Brandon, FL, Brian Eckley of Tampa, FL, Daryl Smith of Riverview, FL, Jamie Neaves of Daytona Beach, FL, Jerry Jones of Clermont, FL, and Tom Winegardner Jr. of Pierson, FL.
