Tuscumbia, Alabama - The next and final event of the 2005 racing season at the “NAS” (North Alabama Speedway) will be on Friday November 11 th and Saturday November 12 th when North Alabama Speedway hosts the O'Reilly Auto Parts “THUNDERBOWL” 2005 with racing action at 7:30 pm each night. The first time event will be headlined by the earth-shaking 700 horsepower, O'Reilly Auto Parts United Sprint Car Series winged outlaw sprint cars whose drivers will be vying for a $20,000 purse with $5,000 possible to win in the O'Reilly USCS “40 laps of Thunder” A-Main finale.
The hot weekend of racing also includes “THUNDERBOWL 2005” Championship races in the Open Wheel Modified, Late Model Stock and Modified Street classes with bonuses posted in each of those classes for a two night “Alabama Double Dip” (double feature win). In total fans will be treated to 150+ laps of feature races over the two nights of competition. On Friday night the O'Reilly USCS sprint cars will contest time trials for the first time ever around the quick 1/3 mile clay oval. A new all time track record is almost guaranteed.
Also on the program card for Friday are the all important 12 lap qualifying races for the sprint cars that will determine the starting positions for each driver in the B or A-Mains on Saturday night. A full program of heat races and features for the Open Wheel Modified (20 laps/$500 to win), Late Model Stock (15 laps/$500 to win) and Modified Street (15 laps/$250 to win) classes is also on tap Friday night.
On Saturday evening the O'Reilly USCS returns for their Airflow Research Power Dash, 15 lap B-Main(s) and the O'Reilly USCS “40 LAPS of THUNDER” season finale A-Main event. The A-Main pays $4,000 to win plus lap money and bonuses that could run the total to over $5,000. Seventeen year old Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. won the June 3 rd O'Reilly USCS event at the NAS and O'Reilly USCS National points leader Kenny Adams captured the second 2005 O'Reilly USCS event on August 19 th event.
Saturday night also features the THUNDERBOWL 2005 Championship finals in the Open Wheel Modified, Late Model Stock and Modified Street divisions. The Open Wheel Modified class offers $700 to win the 20 lap finale and a $300 bonus to a driver who can win both nights, making it possible to collect $1500 in total. The Late Model Stock class will pay $500 to win the 15 lap Championship final on Saturday night with bonus of $250 to win the feature race both nights and runs the possible two night total in that class to $1250. Modified Street pays $250 to win on Saturday night and a bonus of $250 to win both nights making a $750 paycheck possible for the weekend in Modified Street.
