O'Reilly USCS Million Dollar Thunder Tour is back in action on pavement next week

February 28, 2006
Atlanta, Georgia -
The versatile drivers of the O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series continue their celebration of the series 10 th anniversary by roaring back into action in the Million Dollar Thunder Tour National Championship chase with a paved oval double-header next week. The O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder Tour portion of the title chase first races at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida on Friday March 10th and then moves west approximately eighty miles to Mobile International Speedway in Irvington, Alabama on Saturday March 11th. The O'Reilly USCS is the only winged Outlaw style sprint car series that contests its National Championship on both paved and dirt ovals.

Drivers pre-entered for the event include the defending O'Reilly USCS National Champion, Kenny Adams from Malabar, Florida who has won at both speedways on multiple occasions and defending O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder Tour Champion, Wayne Reutimann, Jr. from Zephyrhills, Florida. The O'Reilly USCS National Championship runner-up 19 year old Danny Martin, Jr. from Sarasota, Florida, who won the October 7, 2005 feature race at Five Flags Speedway is entered as well.

These three will have plenty of competition from 2004 O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder and four time O'Reilly USCS National Champion Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee and ageless Florida sprint car legend Wayne Reutimann, Sr. from Zephyrhills, Florida who won twice last season in the series.

A host of young drivers known as the Speedmart Young Guns will also make there mark at both tracks. Those include 2005 O'Reilly USCS Rookie of the Year Bryn Gohn from Malabar, Florida, and Ryan Myers from Eldora do, Ohio who finished fourth in last season's pavement standings. Myers finished in second place in the March 2005 race at Mobile International Speedway. Other top Young Guns include 16-year-old Matt Tiffany from Daytona Beach, Florida who was nominated for the 2005 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Rookie of the Year honors as well. The 2004 O'Reilly USCS Rookie of the Year, R.J. Johnson from Decatur, Tennessee is expected to be a contender for the title in 2006 too. Additionally, entries are expected from at least six states.

Last season new track records were set by 2005 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Rookie of the Year driver Kevin Swindell at both tracks. That possibility always exists when the 1300-pound and 700 horsepower O'Reilly USCS cars take to the speedway. Kenny Adams previously held the record at both tracks.
