Chris Moore wins USCS Open Wheel Modified Round #4 at Garnertown

Luray, TN - Chris Moore from Memphis, Tennessee won the 25 lap USCS Open Wheel Modified race during the Hooker Hood Shootout at Garnertown Speedway in Luray, Tennessee on Saturday night. The event which saw three wide racing under perfect track conditions had Ronnie Vernon lead 24 laps of the race and cross the finish line as the assumed winner only to come to the scales light. Moore who battled with Brandon Maxwell and Junior Lemmings for the runner-up spot most of the race was awarded the win. Mike Powers finished third and had the same problem at the scales moving Lemmings into the runner-up spot. Maxwell finished third in the official results followed by Rookie of the year candidate Kody Mea in his best performance to date. Richard Rose from Oakland , Tennessee rounded out the top five. Rookie points leader J.C. Waller was sixth followed by David McCarver in seventh, Shane Harris in eighth Brandon Poppenheimer and T.J. Herndon rounded out the top ten. McCarver, Poppenheimer and Shane Harris were all in and out of the top five during the torrid battle that saw eight caution periods.
