Skinner captures O'Reilly USCS Speedweek Round Three at Clarksville Speedway

May 28, 2006 Clarksville, TN - Marshall Skinner from West Memphis, AR became the third different O'Reilly USCS Speedweek 2006 feature winner in as many nights by winning the 30-lap O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series www.uscsracing.com Round Three A-main event on Sunday night at Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee. Skinner charged from a fourth place starting position into second place on lap one and then chased four-time O'Reilly USCS National Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee until lap sixteen when Skinner raced by into the lead. The 1999 O'Reilly USCS Dirt Cup Champion then held off challenges from Gray and later 2004-2005 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame 360 sprint car Driver of the Year, Gary Wright from Hooks, Texas over the last fourteen laps for the victory.

Skinner had to endure the charges of Wright, Gray and Jerrod Hull after a lap twenty-four re-start for a red flag brought out by a backstretch flip involving Rookie of the Year candidate, Derek Hagar. The fifteen year-old Hagar had started on the outside of the front row and was in sixth place at the time. Hagar was determined to be okay by emergency officials. On the restart, Skinner had only one lapped car between he and the hard-charging seventh place starter, Wright with just six laps to go. Skinner proved up to the task in possibly his biggest career O'Reilly USCS win.

Another Hoosier Tire Young Gun, eighteen year-old Sam Hafertepe, Jr. from Sunnyvale, Texas rounded out the top five.

Seventeen year-old Matt tiffany from Daytona Beach, Florida was eighth. Travis Rilat from Forney, Texas finished ninth after starting fourteenth. The previous night's winner Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. from Olive Branch, Mississippi rounded out the top ten.
