Danny Martin Jr. collects second 2006 O'Reilly USCS win at Rome Speedway
June 11th, 2006 -Rome, GA - O'Reilly USCS Hoosier Tire Young Gun points leader, Danny Martin, Jr. from Sarasota, Florida won Sunday night's 30-lap O'Reilly Auto Parts United Sprint Car Series www.uscsracing.com Southern Thunder Tour feature race at Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia. It was the second O'Reilly USCS win of the season for Martin who is in second place in the series National point standings and leads the Hoosier Tire young Guns point standings for drivers under twenty-five years-old. Martin started in the third position in the race and chased four-time O'Reilly USCS National Champion Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee who started on the pole for nineteen laps before assuming the lead when Gray went to the infield with a flat right rear tire. Martin then had to hold off the previous night's winner, veteran Mike Ward from Memphis, Tennessee who applied plenty of pressure for the last ten laps. At the finish line the talented twenty year-old crossed two car lengths in front of Ward in another O'Reilly USCS June Jam thriller. Eighteen year-old Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. from Olive Branch, Mississippi who's right rear tire was also going flat was third just a car length behind Ward and past National Champion, Marshall Skinner from West Memphis, Arkansas followed less than a car length back. Defending O'Reilly USCS National Champion, Kenny Adams from Malabar, Florida rounded out the top five.

#00 - Danny Martin, Jr. from Sarasota, Florida won the O'Reilly USCS Round 30 lap A-Main event at Rome Speedway on Saturday night. It was Martin's second win of the season with the O'Reilly USCS.
Matt Linder from Hoschton, Georgia got his best finish of the young season by finishing sixth. Terry Gray recovered from the rear of the field after a quick tire change to advance to seventh place after an apparent victory slipped from his grasp. Another Hoosier Tire Young Gun, twenty-year old Stephen Darvalics from Venice, Florida chased Gray home in the eighth position. T.J. Winegardner, Jr. from Pierson, Florida finished ninth and Tom Winegardner also from Pierson, Florida rounded out the top ten.
Terry Gray started off the night's racing action by winning his fifth six-lap Lucas Oil Power Dash in the last seven events. Kenny Adams then won the 10- lap Engler Tool and Machine First Heat Race before drawing himself back to eighth position in the inversion draw placing the potent Gray on the pole and making Gray the recipient of the K&N Filters Pole Award.
Seventeen year-old second year O'Reilly USCS hot-shoe Matt Tiffany from Daytona Beach, Florida won the 10-lap Butlerbuilt Second Heat Race. Marshall Skinner garnered the events Huggins Cams Hard Charger award for his charge from eleventh to fourth place. Matt Linder also passed seven cars in the A-Main but the award goes to the driver that passes the most cars and finishes the highest. Nick De Feo who finished thirteenth was the Robison Racing Products Rookie of the Race.
Danny Martin, Jr. was again recognized as the Hoosier Tire Young Gun of the Race, which is awarded to the top-finishing driver under twenty-five years old. The Weld Racing Hard Luck award went to 2005 O'Reilly USCDS Rookie of the Year, Bryn Gohn from Malabar, Florida who was the first car out of the A-Main event.

The next O'Reilly USCS www.uscsracing.com National points event is this Friday June 16th as the O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder Tour invades Florence Motor Speedway www.florencemotorspeedway.com in Florence, South Carolina and then moves on Saturday night to Southern National Raceway Park www.southernnational.net in Kenly, North Carolina in a paved track double-header.
