Reed leads USCS Modified standings going into 7/3 race at Garnertown Speedway



Atlanta, GA - Ben Reed from Atoka, Tennessee leads the USCS Open Wheel Modified standings with 680 points, going into race number six at Garnertown Speedway on Monday July 3rd. Locked into a tie for second place are, T.J. Herndon from Atwood, Tennessee and Shane Harris from Humboldt, Tennessee just 34 points behind Reed with 646 points apiece. Herndon won the last USCS Open Wheel Modified feature at Clayhill Motorsports on May 29th. David McCarver from Memphis, Tennessee has moved up in the standings to fourth place with 642 points. Rookie of the Year candidate, J.C. Waller from Arlington, Tennessee rounds out the top five in the standings with 640 points in the close title chase.

After a bad night at Clayhill Motorsports, Junior Lemmings from Jackson, Tennessee has dropped to sixth in the standings with 626 points. He is followed by Jamie Hard from Bartlett, Tennessee with 604 points. Richard Rose from Oakland, Tennessee is eighth in the standings with 600 points. Jeff Howell from Memphis, Tennessee in ninth with 598 points. Fifteen year-old Rookie of the Year contender Kody Mea from Southaven, Mississippi rounds out the top ten with a total of 586 points.




Brandon Poppenheimer from Memphis is just out of the top ten in eleventh with 568 points. Poppenheimer has several top three and top five finishes, but missed the season-opener. Andy Tennison from Bartlett, Tennessee is twelfth with 510 points. Two-time feature winner Jason Sullivan from Reagan, Tennessee. Sullivan won the 50 lap season-opener and Round #3 both at Garnertown Speedway. Sullivan has 422 points and is thirteenth in the standings. Brandon Maxwell from Milan is fourteenth with 418 points. Chris Moore who won Round #4 at Garnertown is ranked fifteenth with 398 points. The only other feature winner is Bart Richardson from Bradford, Tennessee, who won Round #2 at Malden Speedway on April 1st. Richardson is 18th in the standings with 334 points.

The Firecracker 100, July 3rd event at Garnertown Speedway will feature a 30 lap USCS Open Wheel Modified feature paying $1100 to win. Also on the program that starts at 7:30 p.m. with the USCS Modifieds will be the O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series winged outlaw sprint cars, Street Stocks and Hummer Cup Cars.
