Sport Allen picks up O'Reilly USCS win and Bounty at East Bay

November 03, 2006, Tampa, FL - Former East Bay Raceway track champion, Sport Allen from Pinellas Park, Florida picked up the win on night one of the 5th Annual O'Reilly Auto Parts United Sprint Car Series Fall Brawl at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida on Friday night. Allen also collected a bounty of $500 posted for any driver who could win the A-main event with Danny Martin, Jr. who had a five race win streak going coming into the event, still in the field at the finish. Allen who also won the events Friday night preliminary in 2005, raced from his pole-position start into turn one of the race and held on through two cautions and a lap thirteen red flag to capture his fourth career O'Reilly USCS feature win. Allen won the inaugural Fall Brawl finale in 2000.

Last week's East Bay Raceway Park feature winner, Gene Lasker from Tampa, Florida started beside Allen in the front row and chased him for the entire twenty laps to finish in the runner-up spot. Four time O'Reilly Auto Parts / United Sprint Car Series www.uscsracing.com National champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee followed in third place. Danny Martin, Jr. who set fast time with a lap of 13.712 seconds around the tacky 1/3 mile dirt oval finished fourth and Defending O'Reilly USCS National Champion Kenny Adams from Malabar, Florida rounded out the top five.

Tom "T.J." Winegardner, Jr. from Pierson, Florida headed the second five in sixth place. Newly crowned 2006 track champion and second-generation sprint car driver Daryl Smith from Gibsonton, Florida was seventh and Winegardner's team-mate, Greg Leonard from Tampa, Florida was eighth in the finishing order. 1999 O'Reilly USCS Champ, Marshall Skinner who started sixteenth followed in ninth and twenty-two year old Hoosier Tire Young Gun, Ryan Grubaugh from St. John, Michigan who won the 12 lap Huggins Cams B-Main and started seventeenth in the feature, rounded out the top ten.

Danny Martin, Jr. started off the evening by winning the six-lap Lucas Oil Power Dash. Daryl Smith was the winner in the Engler Tool and Machine First Heat. Tom Winegardner, Jr. captured the Butlerbuilt Second Heat race. His team-mate Greg Leonard won the JE Pistons Third Heat and Kenny Adams streaked to the win in the FSR Racing Products Fourth Heat. Ryan Grubaugh won the 12 lap B-Main event.

Sport Allen grabbed the K&N Filters Pole Award after first heat winner Daryl Smith drew him to the pole with a six inversion draw. Terry Gray received the evenings JE Pistons Top Guns Award for his third place finish. Bryan Eckley was declared the Robison Racing Products Rookie of the Race. Matt Linder garnered the events Huggins Cams Hard Chargerafter starting 21st and passing nine cars. Danny Martin, Jr. was recognized as the Hoosier Tire Young Gun of the Race, which is awarded to the top-finishing driver under twenty-five years old. The Weld Racing Hard Luck award went to Dale Blaney from Hartford, OH after he blew and engine and was unable to start the A-main in his spot.

The next O'Reilly USCS National points event and O'Reilly Southern Thunder points event will be on Saturday night at East Bay Raceway Park in Brunswick.
