CLEWISTON, FL – February 7, 2026 -
Davie Franek of Wantage, NJ swept the weekend for the United Sprint Car Series Presented By Hoosier Racing Tires Outlaw Thunder Tour by winning the 30-lap King of the 360 Feature Race and pocketing $10,000 on Saturday night at Hendry County Raceway Park. Franek won the opening night of the USCS Winter Heat Series at the same track on Friday night.
“The car didn’t feel good early and I was looking around to see which groove was going to be the fast way around,” Franek said, who started second. “The top dusted off, and I saw that it cleared off on the bottom. We were good there, and that seemed to be where everybody ended up.”
For the second straight night, the 2025 USCS Southern Rookie of the Year, 15-year-old Coen McDaniel of Gaffney, SC battled up through the top five from his fifth starting spot to finish second to Franek. The 2025 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Rookie of the Year. Jadan Bowling of Holden Beach, NC took the third spot and Corbin Gurley of Hebron, IN was fourth. Fifth went to Cale Thomas of Fountaintown, IN.
D.J. Christie of Beachville, ON CAN drove to a sixth-place finish and Mark Ruel Jr. of Jacksonville, FL was seventh. Eric Riggins Jr. of Charlotte, NC took the eighth spot, and 16-time USCS National Champion and National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Inductee Terry Gray finished ninth. Trey Meredith of Dade City, FL rounded out the top ten after starting 20th to earn the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger of the Race Award.
In preliminary action, Ryder Laplante of Calera, OK won the six-lap Hoosier Racing Tire Speed Dash to earn the Pole Position for the 30-lap Feature Race. The four eight-lap Heat Races were won by Thomas in the Engler Machine & Tool First Heat, Gurley in the Butlerbuilt Second Heat, Riley Goodno of Knoxville, IA in the Schoenfeld Headers Third Heat, and Laplante in the Huggins Cams Fourth Heat.
The ten-lap B-Main race was won by NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Brett Moffitt of Mooresville, NC. Thomas was the Fast Qualifier among the 27-car field with a lap around the 3/8-mile dirt oval in 13.177 seconds.
LaPlante took the lead at the start of the race followed by Franek, Thomas, McDaniel, and Goodno. The caution flag came out on lap two went Cole Schroeder of Bozeman, MT and Cheyenne Potter of Lake Helen, FL got together in turn two. After the restart, Franek found the sweet spot for his race car, and he got under Laplante to take the lead on lap seven.
Behind the two leaders, Bowling ran the top of the track and McDaniel worked the bottom groove, as they battled back and forth for the third spot. Bowling and McDaniel moved up to challenge Laplante for second by lap nine. The trio came off the second turn three-wide with McDaniel powering off the inside to drive under Laplante for second, while Bowling sailed around the outside to remain in the third spot.
Franek was working lapped traffic on the tenth lap, and McDaniel was able to give Franek his only challenge of the race. McDaniel took the lead from Franek coming off the fourth turn on lap 12, but the pass was negated by a caution flag.
When the field went back to green flag action, Franek was able to pull away with clear race track in front of him while McDaniel and Bowling revisited their battle for the second spot. Potter spun down the front straightaway on lap 19 to bring out the caution flag and Franek had to give up a 1.868 second lead over McDaniel.
The leader once again pulled away from McDaniel for the eight-lap dash to the finish. By lap 20, Franek had opened up a 2.233 second lead on McDaniel, as lapped traffic loomed ahead of the leader.
It was no panic for Franek, as he tip-toed through the lapped cars in the final two laps of the race to take a 1.061 second margin of victory under the checkered flag. The 30 green flag laps of the race took 22 minutes and 22.259 seconds to complete.
