Dale Howard battles to victory in USCS Sprint Speedweek Finale at Jackson Motor Speedway on Saturday.

Byram, MS - June 13, 2020 - Dale Howard from Byhalia, Mississippi kept the paycheck for the 15th annual USCS Sprint Speedweeks Round #6 Finale in his home state on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway. Howard started from the K&N Filters Pole Position and held off USCS National points leader Mark Smith from Sunbury, Pennsylvania for the final 24 laps of the 30-lap main event. Howard had to endure several red and caution flag events before reaching the www.RockAuto.com USCS Victory Lane for the third time this season nd for his second USCS Sprint Speedweeks 2020 win..

Smith finished in runner-up spot followed by two-time series Champion Jordon Mallett from Greenbrier, Arkansas in third place. Young gun Hayden Martin finished in fourth place and defending and twelve-time USCS National Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee rounded out the top five.

Neville, Pennsylvania’s Mallie Shuster finished in the sixth spot followed by 2-time USCS National Champion, Morgan Turpen from Somerville, Tennessee in seventh place. Terry Witherspoon from Jacksonville, Florida finished in eighth place followed by USCS Rookie of the Year points leader, Conner Leoffler from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in ninth and Another top Rookie contender Landon Britt from Atoka, Tennessee in the tenth spot.

Howard and Mark Smith, who won the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat, lost two of their initial challengers when Kyle Amerson’s #29a that was scheduled to start from the K&N Filters Pole Position after winning the USCS Hoosier Speed Dash and the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat would not fire for the A-Main and had to watch the race from the sidelines. After Amerson’s mount didn’t fire, the A-Main started with Dale Howard on the Pole Position and Cody Gardner from Benton, Arkansas, who won the Brown and Miller Racing Solutions Second Heat on the outside font row. When the green flag waved, the cars raced into turn one and Gardner flipped hard to end his night immediately.

The next United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters events are an Alabama invasion on Father’s Day weekend with a return to Dothan Motor Speedway for USCS Fast Friday on Friday, June 19th. On the following night the USCS teams traveling two hours North to East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama for the 24th annual USCS Alabama Sprint Car Nationals. That race has been a Father’s Day weekend tradition at EAMS for over two decades.
