Our deepest sympathies, condolences and especially prayers go out to the Family and friends of frequent United Sprint Car Series staff member Mr. Bobby Martin.
We (Our USCS Family) have known Bobby Martin for well over a decade, maybe at least 15 years. Bobby was always the first to offer help and to have a smile on his face when you saw him.
I personally got to know him first, when our series traveled to Riverside Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas. He worked as head of track security there. He became a friend and then he and John Garmany another long-time Riverside staffer offered to help us at other events around the Mid-South area and became very helpful when he and John and sometimes his Son, Matt Martin came to lend a hand.
Then sometime later, Bobby introduced me to his Brother Gerald Martin, who has worked many events with us and became a valuable member of our staff.
Most of my last few conversations with Bobby were during his hospital stays and then about him dealing with his serious health issues. He was so determined to beat his issues which had become insurmountable.
I didn't realize until I started writing this how much I am going to miss my friend, Mr. Bobby Martin when we go to Riverside Speedway this coming Saturday. There is just going to be a hole there that no one can really fill.
Bobby Martin, Rest in Peace my Friend, I'm so glad you were always a great friend and that I got to know you.
God Bless you. You are now pain free...Until We meet again.
Pete Walton.
