Inside Line Promotions – HIGHLANDS, Texas (Oct. 16, 2019) – This season has been arguably the lightest on the race schedule for Channin Tankersley, who is traveling to Louisiana this weekend.

The Old School Racing competitor will compete on Friday and Saturday at Chatham Speedway in Chatham, where he last raced during his season-opening doubleheader in March. The races this weekend are with the USCS Series.

“We’ve run pretty decent there and we’ve won there in the past,” he said. “I actually got my first ASCS win there in 2008. We haven’t raced there much, probably seven or eight times since then. I think we’ve ran third once and second twice. I think we have four or five podiums.”

Tankersley placed sixth during the opening night before recording a runner-up result at the bullring in March.

“It’s really fast,” he said. “It’s a big quarter-mile track that is generally pretty racy.”

Since that season-opening weekend Tankersley only has 11 starts under his belt. However, he’s recorded a trio of wins and seven top fives during that span.

“I think this is the fewest number of races I’ve done in a season ever,” he said. “We only have a few races remaining so hopefully we can make the most of our opportunities.”
