After finishing in third place on the previous night at Five Flags Speedway, Adams stole the show on this night with a near clean sweep to victory lane. After setting fast time of 14.617 seconds around the paved high-banked half-mile in the C&B Mushroom Farms time trials, Adams dominated for the win in the six laps Lucas Oil Power Dash. He followed those finishes by chasing the previous night's winner, Trey Robb from Newcastle, Oklahoma across the finish line in the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat.

When the 30 lap A-Main began pole starter Danny Martin, Jr. from Sarasota, Florida raced into the lead in turns one and two and then as 2006 East Bay Raceway track Champion, Daryl Smith from Riverview, Florida pulled along side him on the backstretch the two collided leaving Smith spun out backwards on the backstretch and a complete re-start occurred. For the restart Adams would move up from row two to the outside of the front row replacing Smith who was to restart on the rear. When the race re-started, Adams flew into turn one and raced away from the field toward this historic victory lane visit leaving seven to eight cars battling behind him in a pack vying for the runner-up spot.

As the battle for the two additional spots on the victory podium raged on Danny Martin, Jr. headed the pack that included defending series Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee now in third place. For the following 29 laps, Gray and Martin and five other drivers raced wheel-to-wheel and bumper-to-bumper at 140 miles per hour in the constantly changing race order.
