Wilson and his Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics and DNC Hydraulics sponsored team are making the trip to Hendry County Motorsports Park in Clewiston for races on Friday and Saturday, marking the first weekend of a month-long trek to the Southeast.

“We are running more of a true outlaw schedule this year,” Wilson said. “It’s a lot easier for me to manage and handle. We’ll still run most of the All Star schedule, but there’s no pressure this year. We have another year with Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics and DNC Hydraulics backing our team as well as many other partners so we’re excited. We’re grateful for all of the support our partners have had with our team and with the direction we are taking this year.”

It all begins this weekend at a dirt oval where Wilson said he’s made one career visit.

“I think we ran second or third a couple of years ago and the second night rained out,” he said. “I don’t remember a lot about the race, but I remember we were okay. And any time you can contend for a podium it’s a good night.

“We’re looking forward to contending for wins this year. That’s our focus. After everything that transpired over the winter and spending time out of the loop, just working on our own stuff to figure out what we need to do, it’s the best I’ve felt going into a race season in five years. There’s no pressure. We’re looking forward to the next two weeks in Florida and then racing with the World of Outlaws for a few races before we head home. It gives us an opportunity to just go race and get back to enjoying it.”

The first event of this week is a Hercules Tires dealership visit on Wednesday at Big Tires and More Tire Pros in Lutz, Fla., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
